New Clerk Introduction
Published: 10 January 2025
Hello Residents of Berinsfield!
My name is Alex Marasco and I am the recently appointed Clerk and Responsible Finance Officer to Berinsfield Parish Council. I am assuming the role after the retirement of the previous Clerk, Annette Loveland who has given a huge amount of service to the Parish Council and the residents it serves. I would like to wish Annette Loveland well for her retirement and to recognise the contribution and achievement she has made in being in post for such a long and successful period.
I am delighted to have accepted this role with Berinsfield Parish Council and to get to work. I am determined that I will bring the same dedication, hard work and care that my predecessor has shown. Furthermore, it is my hope that through my career to date which has taken in a mixture of private sector responsibility, public sector service roles and voluntary work, I will be able to bring something new to Berinsfield Parish Council which will benefit the village and those within it.
It is important to me, that I am available as much as possible for residents and with a young family of my own, I know just how important it is to have a local government officer available for queries and assistance as needed. All residents will be able to contact me through telephone and Whatsapp on 07491152091 and by email at clerk@berinsfield-pc.gov.uk. I will be as responsive as I can, however due to the nature of the Clerk job, it may not always be possible for me to answer calls immediately. That being said, if you do not get through then please leave a message and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
Looking forward, I am excited to work with a Parish Council that has proven to me to be a healthy and positive group of councillors who are passionate about delivering services and facilities that all on the village can be proud of. In addition, I am relishing the opportunity to be involved in the delivery of those services and facilities. I hope to add good value to all work the Parish Council undertakes and to contribute to the proud community of Berinsfield, long term.

I know you will all welcome Alex as Berinsfield’s new Parish Clerk. Stepping into Annette’s shoes won’t be easy but with change comes opportunity and Alex brings new ideas and a youthful energy which I’m sure will benefit our community as Berinsfield transitions into a modern garden village with improved infrastructure, new housing as well as local employment opportunities.
Your parish councillors are local volunteers but the role of Parish Clerk is a paid role and is integral to the efficient running of your Parish Council.
I look forward to working with Alex to continue to push for funding for improvements to facilities and services for Berinsfield and I hope residents will support the Neighbourhood Plan which will finally come to referendum on 6th February after many years in the making.
