All Dog Owners
Published: 02 April 2020
Unfortunately despite constant requests by way of articles on Your Village Voice, requests on this website and posters in the village for dog owners to act responsibly and pick up their dog’s litter and dispose of it in one of the many dog litter bins located around the village, there are still a few dog owners who are allowing their dogs to foul on public footpaths and green open spaces and are not picking up their dog’s litter. This action will not be tolerated and action will be taken.
IT IS AN OFFENCE not to clear up the mess if your dog fouls in a public place, including the recreation ground, pavements, grass verges and small green spaces and fines of up to £1000.00 are being imposed on offenders. Not only is dog mess unpleasant it causes serious health problems, particularly in children who are more likely to ingest it while they are playing. The result of this can be very unpleasant and lead to loss of eyesight.
There is a supply of free dog litter bags in the dispenser by the pavilion to be used if anyone forgets to take bags out with them.
